“Welcome Home”

On this whirlwind, week-long, eye-opening service trip tour of Jewish life in Ukraine with JDC Entwine (a Jewish relief organization with a long history of major impact around the world). Today we arrived in Odessa, the city my family and a few generations of ancestors are from. When I explained my roots to this place to our local guide who greeted us, she lit up and said “welcome home.” I’m flooded with emotion.
